Dream Tech Academy

A Microschool as an Alternative to Public and Private School

Dream Tech Academy is a MicroSchool for homeschoolers.  We believe that ALL children can learn and should have a hand in their own learning. Students learn best when their differences are understood and accepted, when parents and teachers work together to set them up for success and when they have some control in what and how they learn.

Our "Dreamers" operator under the 3 Bs: Believe, Blend and Build

The Three Bs

Students begin by believing in themselves. Students set SMART goals that are measurable and achievable in each core subject area. They work towards mastery of core academic subjects through our online curriculum. They begin by recognizing their strengths and weaknesses and create a strategic plan to improve upon them. Students are also working on personal goals to improve self esteem, confidence, communication, etc with the help of their learning guide.

Next, our students will blend what they've learned in our online curriculum through collaboration with their peers. Students engage in critical and analytical thinking through group discussions and group projects. Facilitated by a teacher, known as learning guide, students  blend their knowledge to reinforce and expand their learning. Students attend classes in person from 1 to 5 days per week.

Finally, students are able to build on their knowledge gained from our online curriculum and in person collaboration to help guide their own personal educational project. Students in this stage work on individual projects of their choice. Students can choose to research topics of interest from the online curriculum or from collaborations to showcase their knowledge.

Each quarter our students choose to either present their individual project or their group project to demonstrate knowledge gained. This is presented during our "Dreams Do Come True" event.
